escort diary® of Ava Grey: Apparently, I Have a Type. Unfortunately.
I had a rather amusing encounter in a lift the other evening.
There I was, minding my own business, when a ridiculously handsome gentleman stepped in beside me.
Tall, beautifully dressed, smelled absolutely divine. The sort of man who makes you suddenly very interested in the floor numbers.
He smiled. I smiled.
Then he said, “You look familiar.”
Now, there are several ways a woman can respond to that sentence, and I’m fairly certain I chose the worst one.
“That’s worrying. I’ve been trying to behave lately.”
He laughed.
A promising start, I thought.
We exchanged a little harmless banter, and just as I was beginning to think the universe had finally delivered something worthwhile without a tracking number, he asked for my number.
Naturally, I obliged.
Then the lift doors opened.
“Lovely meeting you,” he said. “I’ll give you a call. My wife and I are always looking for interesting people to have dinner with.”
His wife.
Of course.
I smiled sweetly and stepped out, doing my very best impression of a woman who hadn’t just mentally planned three dates and a weekend in Paris.
Although, on reflection, perhaps I shouldn’t be so quick to dismiss the invitation.
After all, I do love a good dinner party.
And I’ve always been rather good at making friends.
Kisses,
Ava xx
